I'm downloading the sims 4 right now from origin, I tried looking up if others that have MacBook Pro non touch bar base model have tried to play sims on their laptop, but I couldn't find any related post. I know my laptop is not really ideal for gaming, but My question is, would it be safe. The systems heat up is as normal as that of a PC while running on its normal situation. However, when I play games (like BioShock, Sims etc) Mac just heats up immensly and fans kick in. I have never seen/felt a computer get this hot before. Again, not normal at all. In my house The Sims is the game to play. We all spend hours creating the perfect Sim, trying to make them look like each other and even building a house to look like ours. Since we play a lot of video games, but since two of our computers are Macs, we figured out how to play PC games on a Mac, too!
The first thing you need to do is to Bootcamp your Mac. This isn’t some silly workaround. Apple actually has instructions for how to bootcamp your Mac on their website and the software is already installed on your computer. So you don’t need to worry about security and all that.
We bought a copy of The Sims™ 4 at Wal-Mart in their PC gaming section.
We were so excited to install, I barely even got a picture of it before it got ripped away from me! HAH!
Once you’ve set up you Mac to to boot in Windows mode, just hold down control and start your computer! Click the drive you named “Windows” and your Mac will boot up in Windows mode so you can play The Sims™ 4!
Install the game according to the instructions on the insert inside the game.
Insert the disc into your cd drive, and this will pop up:

The Sims 4 hasn’t always delivered great Mac support. For a while, it was no longer playable due to a lack of 64-bit support. But ever since, developer Maxis has stepped up its game and ensure The Sims 4 on Mac is just as good as on Windows.
Is The Sims 4 worth it? The reviews
So did The Sims 4 delivered? Is it as good as its predecessors? The game didn’t receive exceptional reviews at launch. Most agreed The Sims 3 had more to do and they punished The Sims 4 for it.
Yet The Sims 4 has always had more depth. And since its initial release, the game has received plenty of updates and DLCs.
Bottom line: In spite of average reviews, The Sims 4 is the best Sims game you can buy today, by far.

What is Rosetta 2? Rosetta 2 is a translation process that enables an M1 Mac with Apple silicon to use apps built for Intel-based Macs.
As you can see below, the game is still exclusively written for Intel-based Macs, but thanks to Rosetta 2, The Sims 4 can nonetheless run great on M1 Macs:

- Below 20 FPS: Unplayable: Laggy gameplay, full of stutters and slowdowns.
- 20-30 FPS: Borderline: Can be OK in slow-paced games. Still, not optimal.
- 30-45 FPS: Playable: Acceptable for most (most gaming consoles do this).
- 45-60 FPS: Smooth: Fluid gameplay, with no perceivable stutters.
- 60+ FPS: Very Smooth: For hardcore and professional players, a luxury for most.
We usually aim for 30 FPS, because 30 FPS is enough to guarantee a smooth and fluid experience for most casual gamers.
